🍗 Crispy Homemade Chicken Bites

Ingredients
For the Chicken
1½ lb (700 g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
½ cup (120 ml) buttermilk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried Italian seasoning
For the Coating
1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (100 g) breadcrumbs or panko
1 egg
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
Vegetable oil, for frying
For Serving
Ketchup, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce
Instructions
Marinate the chicken:
Place the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add buttermilk, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For extra flavor, marinate for up to 4 hours.
Prepare the coating station:
Place the flour in one bowl. Beat the egg in a second bowl. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Coat the chicken:
Remove each chicken piece from the marinade. Coat it in flour, dip it into the beaten egg, then press it firmly into the seasoned breadcrumbs until completely covered.
Heat the oil:
Heat about 1½–2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the chicken:
Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil without overcrowding the pan. Fry for about 3–5 minutes per side, or until deeply golden and cooked through.
Drain:
Transfer the crispy chicken bites to a wire rack or paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve hot:
Serve immediately with ketchup, ranch, honey mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce. 🍗🔥
