Red Onion & Aloe Soothing Face Mask

Ingredients
1 tablespoon fresh red onion juice
2 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon plain unsweetened yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon finely ground oatmeal
2–3 drops of jojoba oil, optional
Instructions
Prepare the red onion juice
Peel a small piece of red onion and grate it finely. Place the grated onion in a clean piece of cheesecloth or a fine strainer and gently squeeze out about 1 tablespoon of juice.
Make the mask
In a small clean bowl, combine the red onion juice, aloe vera gel, plain yogurt, honey, and finely ground oatmeal.
Mix thoroughly
Stir until you have a smooth, creamy consistency. If the mixture is too thin, add a little more oatmeal. If it is too thick, add a few drops of aloe vera gel.
Patch test first
Before applying it to your face, place a tiny amount on a small area of skin and wait to see whether irritation occurs. Red onion can be irritating, especially on sensitive skin.
Apply gently
Cleanse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry. Apply a thin layer of the mask, avoiding the eyes, lips, nostrils, and any cuts or irritated areas.
Leave it on briefly
Leave the mask on for approximately 10–15 minutes. Do not leave this onion-based mixture on overnight.
Rinse
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Do not scrub aggressively while removing the mask.
Moisturize
Pat your face dry with a clean, soft towel and apply your usual gentle moisturizer.
Important Notes
Use the mask once a week at most at first.
Stop immediately if you experience burning, significant redness, swelling, or itching.
Avoid using it on broken, sunburned, or freshly exfoliated skin.
Keep the mixture fresh and discard any leftovers rather than storing it.
Always use sunscreen during the day, especially when focusing on maintaining an even-looking complexion.
This is a homemade skincare mask for temporary hydration and a fresh, moisturized feel; it should not be considered a treatment for wrinkles, dark spots, or other skin conditions.
