Homemade Yogurt & Oatmeal Face Mask

🧴 Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons plain, unsweetened yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon finely ground oatmeal (oat flour)
  • 1 teaspoon pure aloe vera gel
  • ½ teaspoon honey — optional
  • 1–2 teaspoons lukewarm water, only if needed to adjust the texture

👩‍🍳 Directions

1. Prepare the mixture

Place the plain yogurt in a clean small bowl. Add the finely ground oatmeal and aloe vera gel.

If you want a little extra moisture, add ½ teaspoon of honey.

Mix everything thoroughly until you have a smooth, creamy paste. If the mixture feels too thick, add a few drops of lukewarm water and mix again.

2. Prepare your skin

Wash your face gently with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry with a clean, soft towel.

Avoid applying the mask to broken, irritated, sunburned, or freshly exfoliated skin.

3. Apply the mask

Using clean fingertips, apply a thin, even layer over the face.

Avoid the immediate eye area, lips, and any areas that are irritated.

Do not scrub the skin while applying it.

4. Let it sit

Leave the mask on for approximately 5–10 minutes.

There is no need to let it completely dry or become tight on the skin.

5. Rinse gently

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water using gentle movements.

Do not scrub or use a rough washcloth. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

6. Finish with moisturizer

Apply your usual gentle moisturizer while the skin is still slightly hydrated.

During the daytime, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen, especially if you are concerned about uneven-looking skin tone or dark spots.

⚠️ Important Skin-Safety Notes

  • Patch-test first: Apply a small amount to a small area of skin and wait to see how your skin reacts before using it on your face.
  • Avoid adding lemon juice or baking soda to this mask. They can be irritating, especially for sensitive skin.
  • Stop using the mask if you experience burning, significant redness, itching, or irritation.
  • Use plain, unsweetened yogurt, not flavored yogurt.
  • Make a fresh batch each time rather than storing the homemade mixture.
  • This is a cosmetic home-care recipe and cannot guarantee removal of dark spots or other skin conditions.

💕 Simple Routine
