Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon plain, unsweetened yogurt
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- 1 teaspoon pure aloe vera gel
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2–3 drops of jojoba oil or sweet almond oil
Instructions
- Add the plain yogurt to a clean, small bowl.
- Add the honey and pure aloe vera gel.
- Sprinkle in only 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda.
- Add the jojoba oil or sweet almond oil.
- Mix everything gently until you have a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Clean your face with lukewarm water and gently pat it dry.
- Apply a very thin layer to clean skin, avoiding the eyes, lips, and any irritated or broken areas.
- Leave it on for about 5 minutes the first time.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Pat your skin dry without rubbing.
- If your skin feels comfortable afterward, apply a simple fragrance-free moisturizer.
Important Notes
- Do a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- Baking soda can be irritating and may disturb the skin barrier, so don’t use this mixture daily.
- Stop immediately if you experience burning, redness, itching, or irritation.
- Don’t use it on broken, sunburned, or irritated skin.
- Make a fresh batch each time rather than storing it for several days.
- This is a DIY skincare recipe, not a medical treatment, and results can vary from person to person.
How Often?
For people whose skin tolerates it, use no more than once a week. For sensitive skin, it’s better to skip the baking soda and use the yogurt, honey, and aloe vera combination alone.
