Ingredients
1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline)
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon water, if needed
Preparation
Add the petroleum jelly to a small, clean bowl.
Add the baking soda gradually.
Mix well with a clean spoon until the ingredients are evenly combined.
If the mixture feels too thick, add a few drops of water and mix again.
Before using it on your face, patch-test a small amount on a discreet area of skin first and wait to see how your skin reacts.
If there is no irritation, apply a very small amount gently to a small area of clean skin. Avoid the eyes, lips, broken skin, and irritated skin.
Leave it on briefly, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Pat the skin dry gently and stop using it if you experience burning, redness, itching, or irritation.
Important note: Baking soda can irritate facial skin because it is alkaline, so this isn’t suitable for everyone. Don’t use it on sensitive or damaged skin, and don’t scrub aggressively.
