Soft Cinnamon Raisin Rolls

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 3½ cups (440 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp (7 g) instant yeast
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup (60 g) melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the filling:

  • ½ cup (100 g) softened butter
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup (150 g) raisins

For brushing:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a large rectangle.
  6. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, then add the raisins.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into 10–12 equal pieces.
  8. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let them rise for another 30–45 minutes.
  9. Mix the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of milk and brush the tops of the rolls.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
  11. Let them cool slightly, then serve warm.

Tip: Brush the freshly baked rolls with a little melted butter for an extra-soft, glossy finish. 😍
