INGREDIENTS
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
½ cup (113 g) melted butter
2 large eggs
1 cup (240 ml) milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup (about 150 g) chocolate spread or melted chocolate
👩🍳 METHOD
- Prepare the Batter
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and fairly thin, with no lumps. - Preheat the Wafer Iron
Preheat your wafer iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease the plates with butter or oil if necessary. - Cook the Wafers
Pour a small amount of batter into the center of the hot wafer iron and spread it into a thin, even layer.
Close the iron and cook until the wafer is light golden and crisp.
Carefully remove the wafer while warm and place it on a flat surface to cool completely. Repeat with the remaining batter. - Add the Chocolate Filling
Once the wafers have cooled completely, spread a thin layer of chocolate spread over one wafer.
Place another wafer on top and gently press. Continue layering until all the wafers are stacked. - Cut and Serve
Let the layered wafer set completely, then use a sharp knife to cut it into rectangles or squares.
Serve once completely crisp and enjoy! 🍫
