Ingredients
For the Dough
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp active dry yeast
Β½ tsp salt
1 cup warm milk
2 tbsp butter
1 large egg
For the Filling
ΒΌ cup butter, softened
Β½ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2β3 tbsp milk
Instructions
Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5β10 minutes until slightly foamy.
Make the dough: Add the flour, salt, butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5β8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First rise: Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Add the filling: Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it evenly over the butter.
Roll and slice: Roll the dough tightly from one long side into a log. Cut into even-sized rolls.
Second rise: Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between them. Cover and let them rise for 20β30 minutes.
Bake: Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C). Bake for 20β25 minutes, or until the rolls are lightly golden and cooked through.
Make the glaze: Mix the powdered sugar with 2β3 tablespoons of milk until smooth and pourable.
Finish: Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.
