🥐 Classic Homemade Croissants

Ingredients:
4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (225 g) cold unsalted butter, for laminating
1 egg + 1 tablespoon milk, for egg wash
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add the warm milk and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 5–8 minutes until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Roll the cold dough into a rectangle. Place the cold butter in the center and fold the dough over it.
Roll the dough into a long rectangle, then fold it into thirds. Chill for 30 minutes. Repeat this process 2 more times.
Roll the dough into a thin rectangle and cut it into long triangles.
Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip to form a croissant.
Place the croissants on a baking tray, cover, and let them rise until puffy, about 1–2 hours.
Brush with the egg wash.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let them cool slightly and enjoy! 🥐✨
