🍩 Homemade Sugar-Coated Donuts

Ingredients
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup warm milk
2 large eggs
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil, for frying
½–¾ cup granulated sugar, for coating
Instructions
Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ½ inch thick. Cut into donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters.
Place the donuts on a lightly floured tray, cover, and let them rest for 20–30 minutes.
Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts in batches for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
While still warm, generously coat the donuts with granulated sugar.
Serve warm and enjoy! These donuts are soft, fluffy, golden, and delicious—perfect with coffee or tea. 🍩☕
