🍩 Homemade Crispy Donuts

Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2¼ tsp active dry yeast
¼ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup warm milk
1 large egg
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast and 1 tablespoon of the sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until slightly foamy.
Add the remaining sugar, egg, melted butter, vanilla and salt. Mix well.
Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 7–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ½-inch thick.
Cut out donut rings using a large round cutter and a smaller cutter for the centers.
Place the donuts on a lightly floured tray, cover loosely, and let them rise again for 20–30 minutes.
Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the donuts in batches for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Let them cool slightly before serving.
Optional: Dust with powdered sugar, coat with cinnamon sugar, or drizzle with your favorite glaze.
