Ingredients
10–15 dried bay leaves
1 cup (240 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional)
Directions
Prepare the bay leaves: Make sure the bay leaves are completely dry. Lightly crush them with your hands to help release their natural oils.
Combine: Place the crushed bay leaves in a clean, completely dry glass jar. Pour the olive oil over the leaves until they are fully covered.
Infuse: Seal the jar tightly and place it in a warm, dry spot away from direct sunlight for 1–2 weeks. Gently shake the jar once a day.
Strain: After the infusion period, strain the oil through a fine-mesh strainer or clean cheesecloth, removing all the bay leaves.
Optional vitamin E: Stir in 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
Store: Transfer the finished oil to a clean, dark glass bottle and keep it in a cool, dry place.
How to use: Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin and gently massage it in. Avoid the eyes and broken or irritated skin.
Patch test first: Apply a small amount to a small area of skin and wait 24 hours before wider use. This homemade oil is for moisturizing/softening the skin and is not a proven treatment for wrinkles.
