Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Ingredients
6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or frozen, thawed)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla. Stir gently and pour into a greased baking dish.

In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until smooth, then mix in melted butter.

Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Do not stir.

Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until golden brown on top and bubbly around the edges.

Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm on its own or with vanilla ice cream.
