πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions

  1. Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Add the flour and salt, then mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Roll Out the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide it into 2 equal portions.
Roll each portion into a thin rectangle.
Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of one rectangle.
  3. Add the Cheese
Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the buttered dough.
Place the second dough rectangle on top and gently press it down so the layers stick together.
Roll it lightly with a rolling pin to seal the layers.
  4. Cut and Twist
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide.
Take each strip and gently twist it several times to create a spiral shape.
Place the twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
  5. Final Rest
Cover loosely and let the cheese twists rest for 15–20 minutes while you preheat the oven.
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  6. Brush & Bake
Mix the beaten egg with the milk.
Brush the tops of the twists with the egg mixture, then lightly brush with melted butter.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds, oregano, or garlic powder if desired.
Bake for 18–25 minutes, or until the twists are beautifully golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve
Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
Serve warm while the cheese is still deliciously melty. πŸ§€πŸ”₯
