🍩 The Softest Homemade Milk Doughnuts with a Perfectly Sweet Glaze

Ingredients
4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
2 large eggs
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2¼ teaspoons (7 g) instant yeast
4 tablespoons (55 g) unsalted butter, softened
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Milk Glaze
2 cups (240 g) powdered sugar
3–4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Mix the Dough
Add the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast to a large bowl. Add the warm milk and eggs, then mix until a rough dough forms.
Knead
Add the softened butter and knead for about 8–10 minutes, until the dough is smooth, soft, and elastic.
First Rise
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
Roll & Cut
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Roll it to about ½ inch (1.2 cm) thick. Cut into doughnut rings using a round cutter and a smaller cutter for the center.
Second Rise
Arrange the doughnuts on a parchment-lined tray. Cover loosely and let them rise for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.
Fry
Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the doughnuts in batches for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Cool
Remove and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Let them cool completely.
Make the Glaze
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and glossy. Add a little more milk if needed.
Glaze the Doughnuts
Dip each cooled doughnut into the milk glaze. Let the excess glaze drip off.
Let Set & Serve
Place the glazed doughnuts on a wire rack and let the glaze set for a few minutes.
