🍩 Homemade Classic Fried Donuts

Ingredients
For the Dough:
3½ cups (440 g) all-purpose flour
¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
2¼ tsp (7 g) active dry yeast
2 large eggs
3 tbsp (42 g) melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
Vegetable oil, for frying
For Coating:
Granulated sugar, as needed
Optional: cinnamon or powdered sugar
Instructions
Activate the yeast:
Combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, until foamy.
Make the dough:
Add the eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough:
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Let it rise:
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape the donuts:
Roll the dough out to about ½ inch thick. Cut into donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters. Place them on a lightly floured tray, cover, and let them rest for 20–30 minutes.
Fry:
Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the donuts in batches for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Coat:
Remove the donuts and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. While still warm, coat them with granulated sugar or cinnamon sugar.
Serve:
Serve warm and enjoy these soft, fluffy homemade donuts with coffee, tea, or milk. 🍩☕❤️
