Delicious Creamy Trifle: A Perfect New Year’s Dessert!

This dessert is a classic that my aunt makes every year for New Year’s, and it’s always a hit with everyone! It’s creamy, sweet, and has a delightful mix of textures. Perfect for any occasion, especially when you want to impress your guests!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of ladyfinger biscuits (or sponge cake if preferred)
  • 500 ml of heavy cream
  • 1 can of condensed milk (sweetened)
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries (or any fruit of your choice, optional)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional, depending on sweetness preference)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ladyfingers: Arrange a layer of ladyfinger biscuits (or sponge cake) at the bottom of a glass dish or trifle bowl. You can soak them in a little milk if you like them softer, but it’s optional.
  2. Make the Cream Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, condensed milk, milk, and vanilla extract. If you like your dessert sweeter, you can add sugar to taste. Whisk until the cream mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Layer the Dessert: Spread a generous layer of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers. Add some fresh strawberries (or your favorite fruit) on top of the cream. Repeat these layers (ladyfingers, cream, fruit) until you run out of ingredients, finishing with a layer of cream on top.
  4. Chill and Serve: Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight, so the flavors meld together and the dessert sets.
  5. Serve: Once it’s chilled and set, scoop out portions and enjoy the creamy, delicious layers of this sweet treat!

It’s a perfect dessert to make in advance, and it always gets rave reviews!
