For the Vegetable Fried Rice

2 cups cooked basmati rice (day-old preferred)

Β½ cup carrots, diced

Β½ cup green beans or peas

ΒΌ cup chopped green onions

1 tbsp oil

Salt & pepper

Optional: Β½ tsp garlic powder

For the Beef Stir-Fry

1 lb beef strips (sirloin, flank, or stew beef)

1 tbsp oil

Β½ onion, sliced

1 bell pepper, sliced (use mixed colors)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp cornstarch mixed with ΒΌ cup water

Β½ tsp black pepper

Optional: Β½ tsp ginger

  1. Make the Fried Rice

Heat oil in a pan.

Add carrots and green beans/peas; sautΓ© until tender.

Add rice and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Mix in green onions and toss until hot and fluffy.

  1. Cook the Beef Stir-Fry

Heat oil in a skillet.

Add beef and sear until browned.

Add onions and peppers; cook until softened with slight char.

Add garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper.

Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until sauce thickens and coats the beef and veggies.

Plate vegetable fried rice on one side and scoop the saucy beef stir-fry next to it.
